Accessible Beach Program & Wheelchair Access

We have received thanks from multiple users of the Accessible Beach Wheelchair already this season

This service allows an opportunity for people with disabilities and mobility challenges the experience to access the joy of being on the beach and in the shallow water - to be able to feel the surge of the surf and the refreshing salty hit of the cool water, or the sun on their body as they wheel the chair up and down our beautiful beach 

One of our recent visitors, Adam, said it had been ages since he's enjoyed an ocean dip and appreciated the modified chair allowed for the rare opportunity

We also received thanks from a local family:  "We would like to thank you very much for the loan of the beach wheel chair and the support from your wonderful volunteers on Christmas day. Greig had a marvelous time in the sea"

The service is a joint initiative of the Sunshine Coast Council and Coolum Beach SLSC
