Winner - David Tomba - Sunshine Coast Sports Coaches Award

Nominations for the award are assessed on two criteria; the significance of the coaches influence on their team’s development and progression, and their demonstrated commitment and leadership to their athletes. 
Just last season, David and his teams were awarded the following: 
• Reserve Grade Female - QLD Representatives,
• Open Men - Australian Surf Rowers League (ASRL) Qld Championship winners,
• Open Women - Qld Cup Series winners, ASRL team Navy Australian Open winners, Surf Life Saving (SLS) Australian Championships - Bronze Medal,
• and U23 Female - SLS Australian Championship winners.
David is an advocate for increasing female participation in the sport and in leadership within SLSA across all levels from clubs through to the national body, including establishing Coolum Beach SLCS first female Surf Boat Captain.
