Congratulations Chris Atkinson - David Cush Meritorious Award 2023

Chris is one the of the quiet achievers, who is always giving in a number of capacities to the Club, of which he has been part of for more than 25 years.

He first gained his bronze in 1984 and has more than 1,500 recorded patrolling hours. On the beach he contributes further by providing IRB driving skills and volunteers additionally as a Jet Ski Operator.

He has been a long term surf sport master competitor, and awarded previously the Sting Zillman trophy.

Whilst being a regular team competitor on the sand and in the ocean, he has also provided volunteering coaching services to our runners over the years, and chaired the gym committee.

He has provided strong support through business sponsorhip, in addition to his time given voluntarily.

A genuine nice guy, with a nothing is too much trouble attitude. Always there to help and dare we say a half decent surfer
